Using paper and a pencil is the traditional method for conveying ideas and making illustrations of any kind. This type of illustration style might encourage someone to draw in a step-by-step fashion. For an illustration to be successful, a person's sketching abilities must also be improved. But as time went on, digital technology was developed. Today's task is made easier to do with the aid of digital technologies. It has, too. several benefits because it enables anyone to produce illustrations utilizing digital technology.

The infographic you see above was created by me using the Canva application. But before making this infographic, I drew and sketched on paper using a pencil to come up with ideas for what to include. After that, I use the Canva program to produce an infographic that looks just like the image I traditionally drew. This application makes it simple to create any shapes, fill colors, elements, templates, and other lovely features that aid in the success of my info graphics.

I believe there are benefits to both traditional and digital media. Even if it is the outdated method of producing any illustration, conventional methods still have a significant impact, especially on novice artists. We should give significance to and cherish both traditional and digital media because they both have positive effects on us as individuals.

 FINAL TERM EXPECTATIONS

The end of the semester is quickly approaching, and as a student, I had high hopes for this term. Let's first talk about the knowledge I gained during the midterm, though. On the midterm, I demonstrated my ability to draw both traditionally and digitally. Also, I know how to use the basic steps in Adobe Animate. The expectation that I had written during the midterm is that I am able to acquire and experience it with the help of our instructor. However, I know in myself that the learning that I have right now is not enough. I want to fill the gaps and make my journey in this subject successful. 

In this final term, the expectation that I have is to improve my learning and explore more about animation and illustration. First is the animation; in animation, I still have difficulty making animation. I'm not totally good at animating videos since I'm confused on how to make an object continue moving. There are also instances where the videos of my animation are not totally good or have poor quality animation. Second is the illustration; I also have difficulty with traditional drawing or creating an illustration since I am not actually good at drawing or illustrating objects or images. But I will take this opportunity in my final term to improve myself in animating and illustrating. I want to apply all the skills and knowledge that I learn and acquire during this final term. I hope that I will conquer it and be able to make my expectation a real one.

My overarching expectation for this final term is to be more knowledgeable and skilled enough in making animation and illustration. This time I want to fill the gaps and keep the fire burning as I continue to make this journey happen and successful. I will always have it in mind to never give up and conquer it wholeheartedly.

                                        THE STAGES OF HUMAN LIFE ANIMATION

Every person is born, develops, reaches adulthood, and then passes away. These phases involve a process of ongoing psychological, intellectual, and physical transformations. Our bodies go through stages of growth, maturation, and degeneration, and these changes are irrevocable and permanent. Each person goes through this process and develops unique attitudes and beliefs that influence their decisions and how they relate to others. The reason I made this animation was to remind myself constantly that all humans go through these kinds of stages, thus we should be appreciative of whatever we have in this life since at the end of it, we will all die.

Making this animation was quite difficult, and I had a lot of personal development to undertake. However, I believe on Ali Krieger saying "There's always room for improvement no matter what". I usually remind myself of this quote when I'm making this animation to look for any method to finish it successfully. During the creation of my animation, I first chose a background image for it. Then I downloaded a video of a baby crawling, a kid walking, a young guy walking, an old man strolling, and a tomb with a green screen backdrop. I also downloaded a background music on it to make my animation alive. I use a program to create it, and while animating, the first thing I do is add the backdrop image.Second thing is I insert first the baby crawling after that I follow the child walking until to the last picture which is the tomb. Lastly, I insert a music and text. 

I'm aware that I still have a lot of room for improvement. I need to practice more and identify the talents I need to develop if I'm going to accomplish what I desire. I'll do everything I can to improve my next animation. Nevertheless, even though I lack the necessary skills to perform animation properly, I am pleased of myself for creating one.

 REFLECTION

As the midterm passes by, I have a lots of learnings that I gained about Animation and Illustration. First, let's talk about the illustration, for which I acquired the necessary drawing skills. I also discovered that there are two different kinds of drawing methods: traditional drawing and digital drawing. Using pencils, paper, rulers, erasers, and other traditional drawing tools is referred to as traditional drawing. While the term "digital drawing" describes the use of software to create works of art or drawings. I can able to draw the types of perspective in illustration, which improves our drawing abilities. It is challenging at that time since the lines must be traced, but with the aid of the step-by-step instructions, I am able to draw and create. On the other side, animation becomes the most complicated since there's a lot of things to consider before creating a animation. We used Adobe Animate to create an animation as our instructor gave us an activity. 

At first, it  had a very irritating user interface but produced a far more intricate and realistic result. It took 10 times as long, and I do believe that novices would find it challenging, but with enough practice, it may be absolutely wonderful to use. Being able to watch the animated version of my animation that I created  come to life was incredible and way cooler than editing just a background on other software, but it took much more time and effort. Even though learning about animation is challenging and tedious, it is great to see the results. It's amazing how good it feels when you succeed in bringing your character to life. It makes the laborious effort seem worthwhile.

I can say that the outcomes I was hoping for following the midterm were achieved. Our instructor has a good heart and long patience to teach us and give his knowledge  in order for us to have learnings about animation and illustration. Also, our classmates understands and help each other every time we make an activity. Overall, I am thankful that I know how to animate and illustrate, has a kind and humble instructor, and a classmates that are willing to help each other. I hope that this kind of treatment will continue and grow.

ILLUSTRATING USING ADOBE ANIMATE

Drawing refers to artistic expression that conveys symbols and meaning. We are all aware that some people are naturally talented artists, while others are not. Even though I always try to draw, I don't think I'm a particularly gifted artist. My work isn't very excellent, therefore I don't see myself continuing to draw. I view the BTLED-ICT Illustration and Animation course as a challenge to further my pursuit of drawing and practice, particularly in illustration and animation, which both call for drawing

Drawing can be done using technology as well as the usual methods, including paper, pencil, and paper. I drew the precise job that our instructor gave us using Adobe Animate 2022. The first drawing is the girl or the human figure, I use shapes or the primitive tools to form a human figure. Well for me it is not really hard since there are tools provided to easily form a human figure. I drew a tweety bird for my second picture since it makes me think of the times I used to watch this movie as a kid. It turns into the moment in my childhood that I will always treasure. At first, it was challenging because I had to create the figure from beginning, but then I realized that I needed to explore the tool to make my drawing easier. I realized that I can actually just enter a shape and draw a line to precisely make the figure as I explored the tools. The third one is a bridge I drew with a sunset in the background. I used to enjoy watching the sunsets. Every time I see the sun's hue or watch it set, it helps me unwind, think back on past events in my life, and it also brings me peace of mind. 

There's a lot of learnings I learned using Adobe Animate. I can utilize Adobe Animate to express myself even though I don't have a natural flair for drawing. Since Adobe Animate gives me the chance to express myself and improve my digital drawing abilities, I always treasure this moment. I am aware that it is difficult, but I am also aware that it will be used as a tool to inspire those who have an interest in animation and illustration.

  2D ANIMATION: 2D DIGITAL ANIMATION

My expectation for the course 2D Animation: 2D Digital Animation is to understand animation principles. I want to learn 2D animation techniques and how to use software and programs for 2D animations correctly. I know it will be difficult for me because this is the first time this subject will be discussed face to face. I'm sure there will be a lot of challenges on this course, but I'll use this as motivation to do well. I also want to learn where 2D Animation began so that I can understand the fundamentals of 2D Animation and the quality that it can provide to students.

2D Animation subject is not easy, I hope that the instructor and the students can cooperate together to make unity in learning and sharing thoughts, opinions, and ideas. I'm also hoping that my classmates and me will listen to the instructors discussion to easily understand each topic. I'm expecting that we will be flexible in adjusting since we are now back in face-to-face mode of learning. I want us students together with our instructor will learn and also have a strong bond as we go along in this first semester of school year 2022-2023. Lastly, I will expect that after finishing this course we will get a fruitful knowledge and it can serve as a tool when we are in our field of teaching and become a successful person someday.

 ILLUSTRATION: TROUBLESHOOTING TECHNIQUES

                      My expectations for the course include improving my ability to identify problems and determine how to fix them. Troubleshooting techniques will be used to address any issues that may occur during the course. I anticipate that the course instructor will help us learn each lesson that will be covered throughout each class session. I'm hoping the teacher can shape us into better people. Additionally, I anticipate working with our instructor in conjunction with my classmates. As we continue on this path, I hope we may both learn and enjoy ourselves.

                Troubleshooting can improve our decision making and help us know how to fix problems in real life situations. I hope that it will guide us to our preparation as we graduate on this course since we are BTLED-ICT students. It will help us to be ready and prepared in our specific field. In addition, this course is relevant to us BTLED-ICT students because it teaches us how to troubleshoot any technology. By learning this, we can produce a quality standard of education that most people expect.

                   My reflection on the topic is that I should learn this because we are now in a generation where technology exists. As I'm learning this topic, I know that troubleshooting is important in today's generation. I can use this to fix any technical problem or error that may occur in any real-life situation. This will assist us to cope with advanced technology. It will surely satisfy us and enhance us to always be flexible and deal with problems enthusiastically.

 ILLUSTRATION:DRAWING CONCEPT & STRATEGIES

My expectation of Illustration: Drawing Concept & Strategies is to improve my digital and traditional ways of drawing. For the digital drawing, I expect to improve my skills in this way of drawing to adapt to the advanced technology that most people using now. Also, for traditional drawing, I expect to improve my drawing skills using paper and pencil. Learning traditional drawing methods can help me improve my drawing skills, which will lead to better digital drawing. I expect to practice and improve my ability to draw.

        Illustration can help me and my classmates to be more creative in illustrating scenarios and situations in life. I expect that this course can make us share our thoughts, ideas, abilities, and skills we have right now. I hope that we can cooperate with our instructor and learn together as a whole. I can also learn to know the drawing concepts and strategies that will serve as a guide and steps to create a meaningful illustration.

            My reflection on the topic is that I need to adapt and mold myself to engage in this topic since it can help me in my future profession. I can apply this lesson now and after I graduate from this school. It will serve as a tool and footprint to become competitive not just in local but also in glocal communities. This subject and topic can make us easily illustrate our vision and mission in life. The majority of tools, materials, and technology that are used are already advanced. As the mission and vision of Southern Leyte State University is to use and improve technology, we students should adapt to it. In learning this topic, we students can apply the advanced technology that the school has offered. Lastly, we will explore more ways to easily engage in the advanced environment.
